UCL: ‘He committed crime’ – Rio Ferdinand criticizes PSG star as Barcelona win

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has criticized goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma as he stayed on his line and watched defender, Andreas Christensen head in a winner for Barcelona against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg tie on Wednesday.

Raphinha gave Barcelona a first half lead before Ousmane Dembele fired in an equaliser just after the interval.Vitinha then put PSG ahead moments later. However, the La Liga giants regrouped, with Raphinha scoring a brilliant second goal and then Christensen headed in the winner from a corner to give the visitors a 3-2 win.But Ferdinand was not pleased with Donnarumma’s display, insisting that he committed a ‘crime’ and also made two mistakes in the first half.

“I think the goalkeeper in the first half makes two mistakes from crosses and I think in his head he’s saying, ‘I’m going to stay on my line no matter what now and let the responsibility fall on the defenders to defend this set-piece’,” Ferdinand said on TNT Sports.

“That is in his six-yard box, he is 6/7″ or so. That is a crime almost, not coming in your six-yard box and claiming that.”
