
Nigerian Senate has denied reports of a fight over seating arrangements at Tuesday’s plenary.
Reacting to media reports at a press briefing after plenary, Senate Spokesman, Senator Yemi Adaramola, stated that seating arrangements have always been known to each senator in the red chamber, and the reported confusion or fight was peddled falsehood intended to mislead the public.
Chineduoffornewsroundup reports that legislators of the upper and lower legislative chambers resumed plenary after the Easter and Sallah break.Also, lawmakers in the upper and lower legislative chambers were relocated to temporary chambers, where they have been holding plenaries since the renovation work of the National Assembly Complex began in 2021.At the resumed session on Tuesday, some Senators expressed disappointment over seating arrangements.Tuesday’s sitting faced difficulties in live transmission of proceedings as electronic facilities were yet to be fully installed.
