Acclaimed winner of Imo state Labour Party (LP) Governorship Primaries, Major General LKJ Ogunewe (Rtd), MFR is to address a World Press Conference next week, ChineduoffornewsRoundup confirms.

Ogunewe who insists that he won the LP ticket despite the declaration of Mr Athan Achonu as the winner by Dr Alex Otti Electoral Committee, not only filed a serious petition to the LP National Chairman, LP National Working Committee and Election Appeals Committee but insists that he would take all necessary legal steps to ”execute the mandate.”

He accused Mr Achonu of ”flagrant violation” of the Electoral Act, Independent National Electoral Commission Guidelines and LP Election Guidelines.

In a strongly worded Press Statement he issued on Monday 17th April, 2023, Ogunewe in a combative mood said that the LP family in Imo state had given him their mandate without vote buying and vowed that he would fly the governorship ticket of LP in the November 2023 elections.
