Arsenal defender, Jurrien Timber is set to make his long-awaited return to the first-team when they host Bournemouth in the Premier League this Saturday.
The 22-year-old has not played since the first fixture of the season when he tore his ACL against Nottingham Forest. But Timber has been stepping up his recovery in recent weeks and has made two appearances for the Under-21 side. The Dutchman even scored a brilliant goal against Blackburn Rovers.Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, also revealed he was “very close” to making the squad ahead of Sunday’s win at Tottenham, though in the end Timber was forced to watch from the stands.
The Evening Standard reports Timber’s wait to make his Premier League return may finally be over, with the former Ajax man confident of being involved this weekend.
He has come through team training unscathed and Arsenal’s medical team are ready to declare him fit to face Bournemouth.
