Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has said the club’s summer new recruit, Raheem Sterling, will lift teammates Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz up in their attack.
Sterling signed for Chelsea from Premier League champions Manchester City this summer.
The England international joined Chelsea for around £47.5 million and has brought a depth of experience to the Blues, having spent seven seasons at Man City, where he won multiple trophies.
The 27-year-old featured in Chelsea’s Premier League 1-0 win over Everton last weekend.
Speaking with Evening Standard, Tuchel said, “Well, we were joking at half-time and saying maybe it’s a typical Chelsea game we win 1-0, and Jorgi scored with a penalty.
“It is what it is. I think Raheem will lift Kai, Mason and Pulisic up.
“Our formation is a deep formation because the centre of the formation is in the three centre backs and the two No6s, so it’s a deep formation in which you rely heavily on the two wing-backs.”
