The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has promised to support the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, with logistics for his campaign in the state.
He said this on Monday at the inauguration of the Mgbutanwo Internal Roads in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
Wike said, “As a special guest of honour let me thank you. People may not understand because I remember when I went to meet you in your house in Abuja to plead with you not to leave the party (PDP) because I knew you were an asset to the party in Kano State as Kano is very important for our party. Even when they told me to leave you alone, I refused.
“When he was leaving the party, he told me that he is going but his people will support me and they did. I have known you and I know you are a man of integrity. It is unfortunate that we are not in the same party. So I want to say that whenever you want to campaign in Rivers State, I will provide you with all your logistics for you to campaign, just let me know when you want to come.”
Wike had also promised to support the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, with logistics for his campaign when he invited him to inaugurate one of his projects in the state last Thursday.
