The Federal House of Representatives member representing Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Federal Constituency, and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba, have collapsed his political structure for the All Progressives Congress APC candidate, Engr Akarachi Amadi.
Nwawuba, while addressing his political structure and supporters at Claridge hotel , Ubomiri, announced his decision to back Akarachi Amadi as his successor at the National Assembly.
Nwawuba charged his supporters to give their support to Akarachi and his team in the supplementary and ensure he emerges victorious.
Nwawuba pointed out that he has pulled out from the race to support Akarachi who he knows will do well in all ramifications.
In his words “I have capacity and will be handing over the seat of Mbaike to someone I know has the kind of capacity I have.”
Engr Akarachi Amadi who was present at the venue, while reacting, thanked most specifically, Hon Nwawuba and his team.
Akarachi pointed out how important having them on his side was to him in the coming election and charge them to remain focused and resilient
Nwawuba has served the people of Mbaitoli and Ikeduru in the National Assembly for two terms after taking over from the late Rt Hon Bethel Amadi in 2015.
Nwawuba joined APGA before the primaries of his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, following the crisis that engulfed the party prior to the primaries.
Akarachi Amadi, who expressed his confidence in coming out victorious at the polls in a recent press briefing he granted, is more favoured to clinch the mandate of the people as the Peter Obi syndrome that aided the Labour Party candidate, Uche Ogbuagu has now passed.
Ogbuagu who is the current State representative for Ikeduru people, came into power riding on the shoulders of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, who he would betray later for denying him the Deputy Speakership position of the State Assembly.
He would also fall out of favour with Governor Hope Uzodimma and defected to Labour Party.
